If I were his philosophy professor, I would give Gregory Palamas a C — or a D if this sophistry is unintentional.

It has been my experience that the virtue the EO most often tout and about which they most often crow is the one they least often practice — humility.
Do not forsake the faith of your fathers; do not become a rootless cosmopolitan or a golem; worship the God of your fathers as they worshipped Him.
Eastern ‘Orthodox’: ‘If you stare at your bellybutton long enough, you’ll see a mystical light — that’s God!’
2 Corinthians 11: “For such men are false apostles, deceitful workmen, disguising themselves as apostles of Christ. And no wonder, for even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light.”
If there exists any X, such that you, knowing that the suffering of X would — alone — lead to the conversion of Y person you love to Christianity, would not wish for Y to suffer X, then you do not understand the nature or the reality of Hell.
The simple fact of the matter is that we live in one of the worst possible times in human history. The only good part of living today is material comfort, and that should mean very little to the Christian.
Lutherans: ‘Law and Gospel.’
EO: *incoherent chanting*
RC: ‘But what if Mary were God…’
Reformed: ‘God loves you… maybe.’
Baptists: ‘We hate babies.’
Pentecostals: *incoherent screaming*
Amerijelicals: ‘Jesus is my boyfriend.’
Slavery can function as — and has functioned as — a tool of evangelism.
Some are in Heaven today who would have been in Hell without slavery.
There exists among men a natural aristocracy; the degree to which the State conforms to this aristocracy is the degree to which such government both is legitimate and will be effective.
People make consent far too complicated; it’s quite simple:
Your father negotiates a price with her father and then you’re married in the church.
