To a degree, Mormonism owes its rise to American revivalist evangelicalism; the focus on a ‘conversion experience’ is analogous to the Mormon ‘burning in the bosom’.
Ultimately, as Christians, we need not take secular (Atheist) thought seriously, because it deliberately ignores the best available sources.
