Spirits are incorporeal. Revelation 20 says that “the dragon” (Satan) is bound with “a great chain” in a “bottomless pit”. This passage also mentions “a thousand years”.
It’s really not that difficult to discern that the ‘thousand years’ are precisely as literal as the ‘chain’ and the ‘pit’ (i.e., none of it is literal).
