‘Manstealing’, ‘enslaving’, and ‘slave dealing’ are distinct concepts — part of why we have distinct words to represent them; ἀνδραποδιστής is not properly translated ‘enslaver’ or ‘slave dealer’, but ‘manstealer’.
Honestly, if I had been asked to guess, I probably would have been able to say that Satan would split the Western Church over slavery (and related issues), because he has always hated authority, hierarchy, and order — and his children follow him.
The ‘moral’ condemnation of slavery inevitably leads to Egalitarianism and thence to apostasy.
To function properly, all parts of a body must be well and act in concert. Non-liturgical services are a broken foot.
